Mrs. Farley joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2013, after graduating in the top 10 of her law school class. She represents landlords in actions brought by the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for allegedly discriminatory housing practices. Mrs. Farley also appeals administrative decisions regarding licensing and employment. She counsels clients on how to best organize their businesses, and drafts Operating Agreements and other transactional documents tailored to each client’s needs. Additionally, Mrs. Farley advises clients on estate planning issues, such as how to provide for minor children. She drafts wills and trusts that accomplish her clients’ estate planning goals.
Prior to joining Martinis & Hill, Mrs. Farley advocated against wrongful evictions, investigated tenant claims of illegal housing conditions, and appealed government benefit decisions as a Marion-Polk Legal Aid Service law clerk.
While clerking at Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto, LLP, a Washington, D.C. firm specializing in whistleblower law, Mrs. Farley became familiar with whistleblower provisions in the 50 states and assisted in bringing a qui tam action on behalf of the federal government.
Mrs. Farley has prepared complex civil personal injury and insurance defense cases for trial. She has extensive motions practice experience.
As a clerk at the Business Transactions Section of the Oregon Department of Justice, Mrs. Farley reviewed and provided opinions on government contracts. Mrs. Farley has gained insight and experience from her work at the Department of Justice and the Oregon Department of Human Services, where she worked as a Human Services Specialist, that is particularly valuable to her private clients today.
